A letter to organizers of Black Lives Matter Oregon
Greetings, and please consider my sincere gratitude for all your hard work fighting systemic racism in Oregon. Chivona Newsome, a co-founder of Black Lives Matter Greater NY has recently come out against covid vaccine mandates in NYC. She says people of color are being disproportionately asked to provide their proof of vaccination over their white counterparts. I agree with this because not unlike the war on drugs, racist people in positions of power use laws like this to discriminate and oppress people of color. My faction of the Libertarian Party of Oregon (The Mises Caucus) agrees with all of this, and is vehemently opposed to covid vaccine mandates. Despite the corporate media trying to divide us types of activists against each other, we share a lot of the same views on police oppression and other issues.
Regardless of vaccination status, I believe we should all be fearful of being required to provide this information in order to eat at a restaurant, go to the grocery store, or even have a job. Millions of Oregonians are in jeopardy of no longer being able to participate in society, and this could only be the beginning of even more stringently insane government policies. If we stood together on this issue, we could win together. Pleading for your help, I urgently write this message. I am connected with many other organizations that have formed a coalition around this issue, and if we all stood united, we could be an unstoppable force. Not just on this, but other things too. Like ending qualified immunity, civil asset forfeiture, and putting racist killer cops behind bars for good. We could create mutual-aid societies that allow us to protect our communities without the police at all. I should have said all this a long time ago, and for that I am sorry. But I’m saying it now, hoping you will hear me. Contact us at
